The M is for Metcalfe and is a really important part of who I am so thanks for indulging me.
Also, there are a gazillion Jennifer Beckers out there so it helps make me less of a needle in a haystack.
My husband had to drag me kicking and screaming up here to Loudoun county from our home in the Shenandoah Valley, but I am so, so grateful to call Purcellville home.

My hubby, Scott, and I have a daughter named Penelope who has rocked our world!
She is my muse and my favorite human to photograph.
I wanted to take photos of her that made me scream. I was screaming, unfortunately, only because I couldn't get my camera to work the way I envisioned.
Thankfully, Scott believed that if he gifted me with, what I refer to it as, a "big girl" camera and a beginners course that I would find joy in taking photos of Penelope instead of wanting to throw our other camera against the wall!
It worked and just like a sponge, I decided I'd learn all I could about my camera and it has snowballed into this unbelievable business.
Before this dream job and before I was a momma, I was an elementary teacher.
I loved my career and I've found that the skills I used in my class community are also ones I use as a photographer.
Taking photographs is the coolest thing in the world. I love it all.
Maternity, babies being born, seniors. Every bit of it,
but I love family sessions the most!

This is my own little space in this giant world where I get to engage with kids and facilitate a fun experience and then give the parents the treasure of lasting photographs.
